09 November 2008

Went to Singapore Biennale 2008
A few thing i thought would be interesting to share
Its definitely a GREAT EXPERIENCE
Looking at these art pieces and trying to understand each of them
although there are some which really *uhmm*
Don't know how to describe
Maybe "some of the art would turn you off"
All of a sudden, I start to appreciate these art pieces
Not from an art student's point of view
But rather, a very psychological way of looking at them
Trying to find out and discern what the artists were thinking when they were making their art pieces
and what's the message they want to bring across
Well, i believe that after all, art is not really a "something"
But, a thing which comes from the way you look at them
The artist may put a name/title/theme to his/her art pieces
But, you may perceive in the other way
Hahahax!!
some of the art pieces which i found quite interesting

"島中島"

"海中海"

this is a singapore map !
you can see everyone pasted their tags on the map

the one i put was beside the GREEN TP
TP? BLAZERS
LOl
don't really want to remember these photos
basically, they are daily product which one could get from Iran or some having-war country
sad life
the kids have to grow up using guns
haix
the world would be a better place
if everyone learn to appreciate each other
and put other before self
i'm in the process of learning how to do it in a greater extend as well
good luck everyone

this is for LADIES :)
WAHAHAHAx!!
for myself as well :(

ALIENS invaded CITY HALL !!
HELP !
ghost buster helps?

this is also another interesting art pieces
there are two sides of each miniature trees/plants/flowers
one side is coloured black/white
while the other is being colourful
assuming the front side is the colourful side
when you looking at your problems
they seems BLACK & WIHTE
so dull
so troublesome
so irritating
when you start going round the problem
start from the side
you started to view your problems as PARTLY colourful
and when you eventually look at it from the front
all your problems seems
so colourful
so happy
i guess, it is only when we start viewing life from the positive side
everything would be wonderful, colourful and filled with happiness
i titled it
"煩惱與無慮"

i have something to say about these families photo
upon graduation from "i can't remember" art school
the artist went back to home and decided to reshoot the family photo which was taken when she was 12
there are a total of 5 photos being taken
the first one is the actual one
the rest of the four are photos of all the family members in different position but the clothes being wore at the position from the first photo remain unchange
hahaha
intersting isn't it?
i titled it

"What Decide Who You Are?"

"無聊﹑單調"

When you look at both of these photos
it's really very very real
i mean, PHOTO of course look real la
its not painting
WAHAHAHx !!
it looks like the girl is looking at me

A Glider without a Glider
"想擺脫束縛嗎?"

Can't really remember what this cupboard is about
but the artist was trying to say something about "dressing/draggin up"
something about gay and lesbian in Australia
anyway, i titled it

"平凡的外表,不平凡的內在"

anyway
i strongly encourage everyone should go to singapore biennale
it's such an interesting event to visit
definitely better than some singer's concert
gonna try to visit South Beach Development exhibition site
and esplanade bridge and other sites
quite impossible thou
busy with projects and training :(
